Route Updates
Bolton Road (B6160)
This
permissive diversion was introduced in 2024 to make it easy for walkers
to avoid a section of busy road walking along the B6160 between
Addingham and Bolton Abbey.
The original definitive route remains at the moment along the roadside.
The new route is waymarked and should offer no difficultieas at all.
As you leave the edge of Lob Wood to cross the road at the brow of the hill, taking special care of fast moving traffic, pick up the narrow paving along the eastern edge of the road.
The new path cuts off to the right, parallel to the road, behind some earth mounds, finally to a gate which leads through a narrow strip of woodland. It eventually leads to another gate where the original path is rejoined.
